About SSA
SubStation Alpha
The original SubStation Alpha script format from the 1990s, with named styles, colors and positioning. ASS replaced it. Convert from SSA to SRT or VTT to play old fansub scripts in current players.
About TXT
Plain text
Text with no fonts, styles or layout, usually encoded as UTF-8 today. Use it when you only need the words, for search, scripts, or pasting without formatting coming along.
