About MD
Markdown
A plain-text formatting syntax created by John Gruber in 2004, where symbols such as # and * mark headings and emphasis. CommonMark and GitHub Flavored Markdown are the common dialects. Use it for READMEs, notes and documentation kept in git or pasted into tools that render Markdown.
About RTF
Rich Text Format
A Microsoft document format from 1987 that stores text and basic formatting as readable control codes. Microsoft stopped updating the specification in 2008. Use it to move formatted text between word processors, including old ones, that share no other format.
