About EXR
OpenEXR
A high dynamic range format developed by Industrial Light & Magic and open-sourced in 2003. It stores 16-bit or 32-bit floating-point channels with lossless or lossy compression. Use it for visual effects and 3D render output that will be graded or composited without clipping highlights.
